Eden Sight Support was founded in 1979 and is a registered charity with a formal constitution. Its purpose is to help vision-impaired people in the district of Eden (the main towns of which are       Penrith , Appleby and Alston).

  1. Seeking a new Chairperson and Trustees -
    ESS is seeking a new Chairperson and active trustees to support, promote and enhance the services provided by the charity. We require a Chairperson and Trustees who are able to commit to attending 6 meetings per year and provide support & guidance to the team. We are particularly interested in recruiting local people with enthusiasm, interest and commitment to making a difference to the lives of visually impaired people in Eden.
  2. A new Audiology Clinic has been opened at Penrith Community Hospital -
    We are pleased to announce, that after much campaigning, especially by Edenb's Sight Supportb's Dual Sensory Loss Group, a new Audiology Clinic has been opened at Penrith Community Hospital.
  3. Chairman of Eden Voluntary Society climbs one of the classic routes in the Lake district. -
    Henry Miller, who is totally blind and experiences a severe hearing loss, climbed Sharp Edge at the end of May to promote the work of Eden Sight Support and to raise much needed funds.
